PAY: OPEN sgtbl_AccessRights Recordset open failed

We know it is very time-consuming and difficult to troubleshoot sage-related issues, we try our best to update the content regarding sage. Recently we had to troubleshoot Sage's payroll-related issue where finally the issue was resolved by the following steps.

Error Details

PAY: OPEN sgtbl_AccessRights Recordset open failed.

OR

Pay: OPEN payroll tasks sgtbl_payrolltasks_users recordset open failed.

To rectify both, please follow the steps below

Step 1:

Close down Sage and if you receive any other error just press OK

Step2:

Then browse to the sage installation folder, e.g. C:\Program Files\Sage Payroll

Step 3

Run the following program: Dbutilities.exe

Step 4

Then Select the appropriate company database by left clicking on it so that it is highlighted.

Step 5

Then choose: “Clear Locks”

Then when that completes (usually in seconds) choose: Repair
